The Shaolin Kung Fu Association is a charitable incorporated society that supports the learning, practicing and sharing of Shaolin Kung Fu and traditional Chinese Martial Arts. Our members have access to our training centres throughout New Zealand and across the globe. The Association is operated by the Instructors of our training centres, as well as our Executive Board who provide nation-wide support.

What is the Shaolin Kung Fu Association?

We offer authentic Shaolin Kung Fu training adapted for the modern lifestyle. The Art we teach is Shaolin Gaocan Mun Nam Pai Chuan Kung Fu, a traditional Chinese martial art rooted in Chinese culture. Like any other traditional martial art, we teach techniques suited for combat and self-defence while also placing emphasis on respect and tradition.

Our Fundraising Mission

In mid-2025 a New Zealand contingency of students will head to the UK (where our NPC headquarters is based) to sit grading examinations and train under the guidance of our world-leading instructors. For students who are a black-belt and above, grading examinations are generally always held overseas  (or we commission to bring our global examiners to New Zealand). Amongst other grading students, NZ instructors: Sifu Julian Paul and Sifu Ryan Brady are preparing for their 4th-degree black belt / Gowlian Matt Deihl, Gowlian Annette Croot, and Gowlian Harrison Smith, are preparing for their 3rd-degree black belt / and Gowlian Maia Stewart is preparing for her 2nd-degree black belt.

This is an open-invite trip for any of our New Zealand student body who wish to attend, but we do acknowledge there are significant costs associated. To reduce the financial pressure, we will be hosting a series of fundraising events over the next 18 months.  All proceeds raised through our fundraising ventures will contribute to subsidising training fees, accomodation, and travel costs associated with making this trip.
